Alexander Gretchaninov composed 15 pieces for his “Children’s Album, op. 98”, and the Fairy Tale is the first piece of the collection. This fairy tale is constituted by a lyrical melody and a simple accompaniment. The difficulty in this piece is in the big intervals of the melody, which can make students used to the five-fingers position feel a little lost. Another difficulty in this piece is the singing character of the melody.
