With a pulse and character similar to that of Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J.S. Bach, this piece has a gentle lilt and pleasant melody. Since the accompaniment and melody both have interesting pitch material, they both deserve thorough attention in regard to phrasing and balance. Keeping a legato touch is especially imperative for the right hand. Though no markings are given, terraced dynamics are quite effective for this piece.
