B.J. Rosco, Space Cruisers
“Space Cruisers” is a great piece for introducing students to quickly changing keys and shifting between hands positions. Although both hands start in F major hand positions, they promptly move to new regions of the keyboard, using numerous accidentals. Other challenging aspects include the detailed articulation markings in the middle of the piece. Students must play all of the staccato notes with great clarity. They should also use arm weight to give the opening and ending chords a grandiose sound.
