Carl Reinecke is a German composer and pianist, and the “Jaegerlied” belongs to a collection of 30 exercises named “A New Notebook for Little People”. Jaegerlied means hunters` song, and this character is very clear in the song. When you listen to it, it is possible to picture hunters riding their horses. It is a witty piece with a lovely melody accompanied by repeated chords in the left hand. The very marked rhythm is a very important characteristic of this piece.
