Carolyn Miller successfully captures the wistful, nostalgic feelings of taking a walk on a warm summer day. She uses a simple melody that gently rises and falls. A faster middle section offers a nice contrast to the opening. Students should follow the pedal markings and slurs carefully, maintaining the peaceful mood. Besides the need to be legato, hand crossing at the end is the main technical difficulty students will encounter.
