This chipper work concludes the Legends and Lore collection. The hands pass the melody, consisting of running eighth notes, back and forth. These notes should be absolutely steady since they are quite exposed. Although the dynamic is marked forte, students should be careful to maintain a light, buoyant sound appropriate for the mood. Teachers may have to explain the concept of a slurred passage ending with a staccato. A dramatic rit. followed by an ascending G major scale concludes “Happy Ending.”
