“Autumn Moods” has wonderful melodies, engaging left hand patterns, and variety in techniques explored. The melody is mostly step-wise, making is easy for students to create legato lines. Strategically placed leaps in the melody add interest and beauty. During the middle section both hands share broken chords with unique harmonies. Students may want to emphasis the bass notes in these figurations. Rubato and careful dynamics add nice elements to this piece.
