Space Invaders certainly has an “other-worldly” sound. The bass is built on fifths, which should be played solidly. A few sections deviate from this pattern and may need to be practiced more because of tricky accidentals. The melody shifts octaves often, but complete hand position changes happen rarely. The melody is somewhat choppy and needs to be played boldly so that is it not overpowered by the fifths in the left hand. Students will love playing this powerful piece about aliens.
