6/8 time signatures are often only encountered in more advanced music, but Spinfest is an exception. Full of energy and spark, this is a great choice for beginning students who enjoy playing at fast speeds. Both hands share the moving eighth-notes, though the right hand is sometimes more prominent. A legato touch should be sustained. No pedal markings are given, allowing students to focus more on other aspects, such as dynamics. The long scale at the end should be executed smoothly and evenly.
