Rollin captures the strength and poise of Flamenco dancing in this intense work. A driving tempo and detailed articulation gives the appropriate character. Students may need to practice the hands alone to achieve the correct balance between staccato and legato articulation. Passages with triplets and sixteenth notes pose technical challenges. Following the frequent changes in tempo is also imperative for capturing the drama of this work.
