One of the primary difficulties of this brief waltz for intermediate students is the high register and correlated multiplicity of ledger lines. As a result, teachers may find this piece useful in teaching students to read notes in the extreme high register. The oom-pa-pa pattern in the left hand will be easily recognizable to students who have played waltzes before, or may serve as an introduction to this common pattern. Students can also explore the idea of rubato through the flowing right-hand melody.
