To fulfill the purpose of the etude, the primary concern in this piece must be fingering. Students will benefit from a teacher who checks fingering markings and makes any necessary editions. Accents and articulation markings are also important, and students should be on the lookout for a meter change. . Teachers can talk to their students about the different events at a track meet and which ones this piece might represent.
