Students need agile fingers before attempting this playful, fast-paced piece. Its energy comes from the numerous sixteenth notes in the right hand. The accompaniment pattern repeats in the left hand, giving more attention to the melody. Good voicing is imperative so that the piece does not sound heavy. Clarity and speed are perhaps the most important aspect of this gavotte.
