“Aladdin’s Dance” offers bold contrasts. The opening of the piece has staccato triads with a playful, dancing character. The next section is extremely legato and contains a broken octave melody above a melodious, smooth accompaniment. The dynamics are also quite dramatic. The piece shifts between mezzo forte and mezzo piano every few measures. Students should make sure that these changes are audible.
