This title refers to Pegasus, a white horse in Greek mythology after whom a constellation was named. This piece has the driving qualities of horse galloping as well as the more flowing aspect of flying in the sky. Eighth-note triads contrast with broken chords with pedal. The numerous accidentals need to be well attended to. Dynamics add a lot of drama to this work. Short crescendos and decrescendos as well as long buildups to a loud dynamic level should be noted. In the middle section, remaining legato is very important so that the phrases do not become choppy. This is a great piece for students who pay attention to details.
