Just as there were three wishes for Aladdin from the Genie’s bottle, there are three beats per measure in this bewitching piece. The accompaniment has a waltz-like pattern, which keeps the music flowing. The left hand is fairly straightforward, but the right hand encounters a few challenges. For example, the numerous sharps followed by natural signs may make the melody confusing for some students. Also, the frequent changes in hand positions can be difficult. The articulation should be closely followed to show the contrast between the smooth melody and the staccato left hand.
