This canon poses numerous challenges for beginning pianists. First and foremost, the key signature is difficult because of having seven sharps. This, however, is good practice for students. Additionally, each phrase is quite long, requiring detailed shaping of lines. Also, each hand moves to a new position in the middle of the piece. Another element that can be hard is the precise articulation markings combined with numerous tenuto signs.
