This canon does not have much melodic changes, since the same two-measure phrase repeats throughout the entire work. Additionally, most of the pitches center around C-sharp, further diminishing the variety. To compensate for this factor, students should make sure that the articulation is especially interesting. For example, the staccatos and legatos need to have a lot of contrast. Additionally, the rhythms require accurate attention so that there is consistency during repetitions.
