Cheery and bright, this canon in E major offers great opportunities to practice a wide variety of articulations. Both hands are often playing contrasting articulations, such as staccatos and legatos. It also gives a chance to pay special attention to accent marks. Keeping a clear pulse can be challenging because of the timing of the accents. Students also need to make sure that the sixteenth notes are clear and even.
