Agility and speed are needed for this canon in A-flat major. Sixteenth notes alternate between each hand and should be as legato as possible. This will create a nice contrast for the occasional staccato notes. Students should be watchful of the tenuto signs and the accent marks. They both help give the piece its unique character.
