This canon is written in a comfortable E major pentatonic hand position. Students should focus on keeping a steady pulse. This can be challenging because of the numerous ties in both hands. Practicing the hands alone helps overcome this difficulty. One also needs to have a lot of clarity with the articulation. The contrasts between legato and staccato add a perky feel to the piece.
