Making the 6/8 time signature clear is difficult in this canon. The accent on the final eighth note of each measure creates a sense of syncopation. The frequent ties over the bar line also can be hard for young pianists. Students should practice slowly until the interaction between the two hands becomes comfortable. Also, practicing hands alone will ensure that the rests receive their full value.
