Both hands take a turn to lead in this cheerful canon, which is longer than the other selections in Opus 14. As the hands switch roles, they also have a small shift in hand position. Students should emphasis the contrasts between legato and staccato as the markings appear. Other important aspects of this piece include playing with a steady tempo and paying attention to the occasional tenuto signs.
