Written in E minor, this canon has a bit of a spooky feel. Not only do students need to portray the ominous character, but they also must have agile fingers for the sixteenth notes. Picking a reasonable tempo is necessary so that one does not slow down when the note values increase their speed. Accents, articulations markings, and rests are three other crucial aspects to having a good performance of this piece.
