This bright, cheerful canon is in the key of D major. Students will appreciate only having two sharps, since many of the works in Opus 14 have numerous sharps and flats in the key signature. A lot of coordination is needed to play the correct articulation. Both hands always have different markings, making practicing hands alone a necessity. Students should play with a strong, confident tone in order to capture the lively character.
