In C-sharp major, this is a great piece for introducing students to keys with numerous sharps. Also, it is in 9/8 time, giving young pianists a chance to play in a less familiar time signature. Other notable aspects of the piece include detailed articulation and numerous dotted rhythms and tied notes. The articulation needs to be extremely consistent, especially since the same two-measure phrase repeats over and over again.
