Konrad Kunz, Op. 14, No. 95

Konrad Kunz

Unlike many of the other selections in Kunz’s Opus 14 set, this canon has some hand position changes. Both hands alternate between F major and C major pentatonic positions. Since both of these keys are introduced early on in beginning piano literature, students can master these leaps with ease. A motive of a fourth gives the piece a distinguishable sound. A bold, confident tone is effective for creating a strong character.
