Mellow and unobtrusive, this bagatelle stays interesting for the listener and performer with a variety of textures and articulations. In particular, the two-note slur is essential for the articulatory style of the piece. Students should be aware of accidentals, key changes, and articulation markings; they also should be willing to shape phrases even when no dynamics are marked, without which the piece will feel lackluster.
