Counting carefully remains the greatest challenge in this short piece. In 3/4 time, it has many accents and syncopated rhythms. Being aware of the pulse can help students with these. Articulation, including staccatos and two-note slurs, also needs a lot of attention. A few ties in the melody can also be difficult for students to conscientiously hold for their entirety.
