Playing “The Sleeping Princess” is a good way to work on creating a special atmosphere. The dynamic marking for the entire piece is piano, and students can work on creating a good tone despite the quiet volume. Also, beginners at pedaling will enjoy holding the pedal down from beginning to end, adding to the peaceful mood. The consistent use of accidentals and shifts in hand position may be difficult for some.
