Comprised of a repeating accompaniment pattern and a tender melody, “Drizzle” captures the listener’s heart with its gentle simplicity. The melody is in the left hand and moves about often. Students could imagine each note as a raindrop, creating distinctive, clear sounds. The right hand uses only the black keys, which may be a new experience for young pianists. The final measures should be played with great sensitivity, listening carefully to the final rolled chord.
