A single triplet figuration in the right hand and a gentle melody in the left hand combine to make a peaceful atmosphere. Paying attention to the given slur markings keeps the lines long and singing. Since creating extremely long melodic lines can be found in more advanced repertoire such as Rachmaninoff etudes, Hushed helps pianists to develop this skill early on. Detailed pedal marking are written and should be closely followed. The addition of slight rubato will give this piece a mature sound.
