Schumann

This piece is quite typical of marches, since both hands are extremely rhythmic and crisp. Playing the dotted rhythms exactly as written and noting all of the given rests will help increase the marching quality. The chords should all be voiced to the top so that the melodic line can be followed. When the hands move in step-wise motion, a legato touch should be used. A steady tempo will help the listeners truly hear a soldier marching.
