Robert Vandall

A simple melodic line paired with engaging harmonies creates a serene atmosphere. The melody remains primarily in the right hand, and the left hand has gentle, pulsating chords. Although a bit difficult, creating a long line is especially important in this prelude. Listening carefully to match dynamic levels after the decay of long notes keeps the line flowing. Smooth pedal changes also help make the melody more fluid.  Additionally, subtle variations in dynamics and tempo are important aspects of this prelude. The numerous accidentals should be carefully observed.
