Timothy Brown, Holiday in Brazil

Timothy Brown

"As you learn this piece, practice the left-hand ostinato (repeated pattern) without the melody.  When the left-hand part is secure, add the right-hand melody and listen carefully to the balance between the hands." (Timothy Brown, reproduced here with permission of the author)

This piece is an excellent one with which to discuss Latin American rhythms and dances. This rhythm is also what can make this piece a bit tricky. The joy of life shines clearly through this piece.
